Theaters of the diaspora meet at the theater festival "BETWEEN 5 ISLANDS" in Great Britain Immediately after the national holiday next weekend, on November 26 and 27, amateur theaters of the diaspora from Ireland, Italy, Denmark, Great Britain and other places will gather in Birmingham to celebrate the festival of theater at the Theater Festival "BETWEEN 5 ISLANDS”. Several years ago, the Latvian theater in Ireland "Sliedes" and the Little Theater of Birmingham met in the project "Between 2 islands", as a result of which performances were shown in Ireland this spring. The project started between the two theaters has expanded and this autumn, diaspora theaters will gather in Birmingham not only from Ireland and Great Britain, but representatives from the Latvian theater in Italy "Momento" and the amateur theater of the Danish-Latvian Association "Pūpols" have already confirmed their visit, as well as those living in Great Britain - the amateur theater group "Straumēni", the Yorkshire Latvian improvisation theater "Spogulis", the Mansfield Theater troupe "Klēts" ” and the London theater “Stairs”. Therefore, it is natural that the festival "BETWEEN 5 ISLANDS" was created. What is this fifth island? Let's indulge in fantasy and call it "Dream Island"! In the festival logo created by the artist Santa Siliņa, this fifth island has the contour shape of Latvia.
